The Crisis Resolving Centre (CRC) or Kituo cha Usuluhishi in Kiswahili language, is a Non-Governmental Organisation which was established and registered in 2007 with Reg. no. 00NGO/1041 under the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC) with the aim of promoting and protecting human rights, particularly women and children’s rights. CRC is the result of Tanzania Media Women’s Association 0TAMWA’s campaign against Gender Based Violence (GBV) and its promotion of women and children’s rights. The Crisis Resolving Centre started informally in 1988 after TAMWA was launched and individuals started dropping in. TAMWA launched the first Crisis Center of its kind at Magomeni Dar es Salaam and worked with social welfare expert to counsel victims and survivor and hired legal experts for cases which needed legal support. The Centre has grown into a Crisis Revolving Centre and works with WLAC, LHRC, ZAFELA and TAWLA for court cases.
